So what is this is so 2007? You never could go wrong with the classic pair of shoes!
You know that the right outfit can only be complete with the right pair of shoes.
The fashion house introduced Tributes back in 2007 with fierce platform pumps and Mary Jane peeptoes. A year later, YSL came out with the T-strap sandals and the Tribute Two pumps and ankle boots. Shoe addicts immediately fell in love with the sky-high platform heels that go up to five and a half inches, and from what we’ve seen here in Manila, the T-strap sandal remains the current Tribute of choice for the ladies.
Here are some celebrities seen rocking the shoe:
Eve paired her white Rachel Roy frock with black YSL tribute pumps at an VH1/Self event in the Big Apple. Gwen Stefani rock her own creation a L.A.M.B asymmetrical black and white dress with the shoe craze of the year. Jessica Simpson dressed up with jeans while out and about in Hollywood. Blu Cantrall channelled her inner French chic style with a gold metallic beanie at Sidekick 3 bash.
Jessica Alba rock the Mary-Jane styled pair to the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. American Idol star Paula Abdul in brown Prada jersey dress had on a pair of chic YSL pumps. R&B songstress from the U.K Jamelia dazzled in red YSL platforms at the Sony Radio Academy Awards. Victoria Beckham also wore this red pump for dinner with her husband.
Do you know which part of celebrity homes I want to see aside from their bathrooms? I am curious to see their walk-in closets! I read certain celebrities are going towards the trend of going green even in their homes, specifically their bathrooms. Leonardo diCaprio, Jackie Chan and Cameron Diaz are all conserving water in their flush toilets, investing money on low flow toilets and dual flush ones. They might spend thousands of dollars making sure their bathrooms rival those of their own rooms in their houses (they might just renovate it every now and then getting updated supplies from BetterBathrooms.com) – but they are still thinking of the environment!
Plus points for our celebrities!
Aside from bathrooms, celebrities invest a lot in keeping their walk-in closets organized. After all, this is where their designer clothes, shoes and bags are kept so they better make sure it is kept in tip-top shape. There are a few celebrities who let us peek in their closets and here are some of them:
Eva Longoria Parker’s walk in closet.
Special Collections: Christian Louboutin espadrille wedges "a beautiful pain", 50 pairs of jeans and more than one pair of Ugg boots.
Nicky Hilton
Special Collections: Manolos, Chanels and Louboutins shoes, 200 or more handbags , and a Roberto Cavalli beaded butterfly minidress that the designer gave her for her 24th birthday.
And this one looks like it is part of a high-end shoe boutique!
Mariah Carey
Special Collections: about 1,000 pairs of shoes, Louis Vuitton luggage
If there is one thing totally not cool, it would be shoplifting. Remember the controversy that Winona Ryder got into when she was caught shoplifting in a store? It never really died down and has for sure affected her career. It really isn’t a matter of how much she stole, it would have been a $1 item and all, but it would still mean one thing – she was stealing.
These days even the usual boutique stores have hidden cameras. A Hidden Camera, specifically a CCTV one, is an investment for security purposes. It always is better to accuse someone when you have evidence on print, and in this case, film.
I remember the movies Charlie’s Angels and Enemy of the State. Who would imagine that cameras can be kept in the most ordinary items? Things like clocks, pens, lighters, wrist watches and even compact mirrors in cosmetic pouches can have hidden cameras installed! And it has excellent audio capture too.
And get this – can you imagine a tissue box holder having a hidden camera?
Yes, it is possible! Better make sure there are no tissue box holders in sight the next time you watch something on TV or in your hotel room.
I have always loved to write – hence the many blogs I have. Writing is a creative outlet and stress release for me. It helps that I have an English teacher for a mom and a voracious reader for a Dad. In fact, my talent for writing isn’t even at par with the talent my sister who is really into research and journalism. Id like to explore and enhance this talent of mine. Id like to take additional course or enroll and earn a degree online – all this needs to be done online of course. And I just found out Capella University, a fully accredited online university recently opened this course! Capella University makes comprehensive online academic writing center available to the public. The online university’s Online Writing Center features multi-media modules aimed at graduate level students studying in a variety of disciplines – making that online university degree attainable.

Even if New Moon hasn’t been shown yet, Bella Swan’s wedding dress on Eclipse is garnering hype. How would it look like? InStyle.com gathered nine designers who interpreted the 1900 wedding gown of Bella Swan.
In Eclipse (the third installment in the Twilight saga), Bella’s dress is described as an early 1900s design (which complements her antique engagement ring) with friend and Maid of Honor Alice Cullen’s modern tweaks to the train and veil. “You look like you just stepped out of an Austen movie,” Bella’s mother says to the bride-to-be when she spies her in the gown in the final book, Breaking Dawn. “It’s gorgeous! So graceful, so elegant.”
Below is the list of the designers who participated with links to their Bella bridal sketches. We’ve also provided links to each designer’s website to see their design portfolio.
- Monique Lhuillier (sketch | website)
- Erin Fetherston (sketch | website)
- Brian Reyes (sketch | website)
- Max Azria (sketch | website)
- Prabal Gurung (sketch | website)
- Lela Rose (sketch | website)
- Christian Siriano (sketch | website)
- Badgley Mischka (sketch | website)
- Zac Posen (sketch | website)
My vote goes to Monique Lhuillier:
Lhuillier’s creation is a mermaid-style dress with lace detailing. The reworked take on a gown from the 1920s features a silk sash and high neck with cap sleeves.
And Erin Fetherston:
Erin Fetherston
This interpretation has a high-neck, puff sleeves and lace bustier. Fetherston put her signature ethereal touch on the two-tiered body with a tulle and lace underlayer.
Did someone just say Fall is here because it is most definitely evident on the colors of the new Coach Madison Collection. Plum and jade colors – yummy!
Can I be best friends with Maggie? I promise to love her like my own sister.
PATENT MAGGIE
Quintessential New York—elegant yet go-anywhere, nostalgic yet modern. A chic bag you’ll want to carry every day.
This 1997 Glamour article has become a popular web chain letter, usually titled “Maya Angelou’s Best Poem Ever.” Glamour contributor Pamela Redmond Satran is flattered, but she wrote the list, updating it in 2005.

Of course with all the tour talks I wrote on my previous post, I need to tell you that by far the best Car Service NYC that can work for tourists (especially those who are in groups) is the JFK Shuttle of the GO Airlink Shuttle Company.
If you want to go on tours and already have a friend to act as tour guide, you don’t have to join the registered ones. You can go avail of their shuttle services and tour around at your own pace.
They have a shuttle service in the JFK airport. They provide transfers in each direction between JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark Airports and hotels, residences and businesses between Battery Park and 125th Street.
They are also an official permit holder by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, authorizing their drivers to load on the inner curb just outside of baggage claim. Passengers won’t have far to walk! Companies without this official status are not legally able to offer this service!
I honestly would like to book shuttle services before landing on an airport because cabs are expensive, you aren’t sure about the drivers and I’m sure the desk of the shuttle service would be crowded with passengers who would like to get one. It helps that their vans have a separate luggage compartment, upholstered seating, air-conditioning/heating, and driver two-way radio dispatch!
My sister recently got promoted and will need to undergo training on the head office of her new company for a month – and surprise of all surprises, the training will be in New York! It will definitely be a work-leisure travel trip.
She almost always stays on the West Coast every time she flies to the US. She goes to the East Coast on rare occasions (air fare is as expensive as the air fare to and from our country!) but she really enjoys going to New York, Philly and Chicago. Our aunt is in Philly and she got to go there during autumn and she told us it is the best colors of the season – pictures don’t do it much justice.
She also finds New York exciting and fast-paced. Not for her but if she takes a tour there, she would love to. She told me about the New York Tours. You get to ride a double deck bus that tours you around the most famous landmarks of New York City. Of course, you’d need to go on top of the double deck and be munching on hotdogs – Grey’s Papaya of course! Those are the best charter buses in NY!
