I have very nice memories of my own prom 13 years ago – I was able to experience it twice, in my junior and senior year and I was lucky enough to be crowned Miss Prom during my senior year too. I wore a blue gown that up to this day sits in my closet, the bodice no longer able to even get past my shoulders. But I won’t give it away, it holds too much memories for me to part with.
That is why the hunt for the perfect prom dress seems to always be an obsessions for most high school ladies. It sure does play a huge part in making or breaking prom night. I just browsed the latest prom dresses in the market and I was pleasantly surprised how fashionable and diverse everything is. I love the variety – it seems that everyone can find the dress that matches their personality perfectly.
Look at the styles of prom dresses 2010:
Long or short – there is a dress for everybody! I noticed how vivid colors are these days. Ladies are steering away from the “tried and tested” colors as designers experiment with more colors. The results are astounding!
If you are a lover of pink and would just love to look like Barbie, get this stunner:
This cute prom dress comes in two colors: light pink/silver and light blue/silver (you can see the blue/silver combo above), has a crumb catcher neckline and dotted metallic tulle skirt. I love how the pink hue screams cotton candy for me and how the tulle skirt has hints of silver – it screams Sweet Sixteen for me with a lot of sass!
I am quite partial to long dresses though as it is just my style so I scouted for prom dresses with that length. I came up with a few favorites.
This style might be over the top for certain prom dances (the full-bodied skirt might make it hard for one to dance) – but I love it! Perfect for debut parties too:
The second style is more classic for me – it can be worn more than once too. Alas, I wont ever be going to prom anymore so I turn my fascination to wedding dresses – I can get married again when we renew our vows. Mori Lee’s designs have been catching my eye lately.
