Archive for January, 2010
Of course, seeing the stars all-dolled up and looking totally glam makes me want to take the plunge and go with taking the natural weight loss supplements‘ trend. The Golden Globes is one of the very few award shows I really watch because I cannot wait to check out the fashion styles (the second and third are the MTV music and video awards!).

Fashion reports that the night’s trend was short and sweet & alluringly artsy:
SHORT AND SWEET:
My picks:
Look what just came out in Azur! (I was doing my usual research on pills that give out fiber and chanced upon glucomannan. However, my excitement on finding such pills was eclipsed by seeing this on my screen.)
The popular Neverfull is now in Damier Azur print. I am sure most bagaholics have this already as soon as it debuted on the first week of January!
A fellow Pinay has done us proud!
I have not heard of any news of beautiful fellow Pinays winning in beauty and modelling contests as of late. I am sure it is not because we are not worthy of the title but because judges have different tastes in mostly different countries. Filipinas are best known for their natural beauty and feminine figure (they are very dainty and oftentimes petite or slim – no need for fda approved diet pills for sure) and Charlene is definitely one of them.
Charlene “Chat” Almarvez, a 16-year-old model from Laguna, beat more than 30 contestants and won first runner-up in the recently concluded Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World. Aside from winning a US $150,000 exclusive contract with Ford New York, Almarvez will also appear in Fashion Week Fall next month.
Almarvez endured five days full of photo tests, walking lessons and interviews with some shopping and samba on the side at Sao Paulo, Brazil. She competed with models from Canada, France, Venezuela, Mexico, Australia, Kenya, Sweden, Bulgaria, Spain, United Kingdom, USA and Slovenia, among others. Karlina of Latvia won first place, followed by Almarvez, then Isabelle of Sweden, Olivia of the USA, Maryna of Belarus, Grace of Australia and Bruna of Brazil.
It’s not summer nor the rainy season where I live but it is true that you need to save some for the rainy day – literally and figuratively! It is so cold from where I am and I cannot wait until summer is here. Until then, I better take advantage of staying at home and take the herbal diet supplements I was given so I can take off the flab away so I can go to the beach.
And while we are at it, why don’t you save for your fashion during the summer AND the rainy season at 20% off at Kate Spade? The Wellie Mellie bag and Neda wallet is calling me
Setting up a blog like this one is easy. Registration of domain names are absurdly cheap these days. You just need to make sure that you get a website hosting program that is right for your need. You can get to know more types of web hosting at Web Hosting Geek. I recommend that you get a web host that has very good customer service and has available support – phone, chat or e-mail – 24/7.
After all is said and done, blogging should always be done responsibly. Remember that you may have your own space on the web, and you are free to do what you want with it, but your actions are seen all over the world, and that whatever you upload, write or do on the web – it is there FOREVER.
I have been spending so many hours at Sephora ever since I found out that during my breakouts, I need to use an acne cleanser. I have been having hormonal problems since late last year so I need to keep everything under control.
Since it’s the first time I ever had to worry about acne, I started comparing acne solutions starter kits at Sephora. I’m quite partial to Clinique since that’s the brand I use for my skin care.

That one is from Murad and it seems it has spot correctors for zits. Let me see what I can find about it.
You have seen cars smashed, driven, put on fire and doing cartwheels in movies and were amazed. It’s a good thing film outfits include auto insurance in their finance production planning (especially if it’s an action film). Unfortunately, it cannot be said for everybody outside. Safe Auto lets you have all the options and lays down all the things you need to know before you settle on an auto insurance.
And from a car company’s point of view, here are the worst car movies of all time:
5. Days of Thunder, 1990
4. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, 200
3. Speed Racer, 2008
2. Driven, 2001
1. Herbie: Fully Loaded, 2005

I do not see vintage jewelry going out as one of the hottest trends of this year anytime soon. There are just so many possibilities as to what it can add to an outfit and how interesting they look that it won’t really go away. The challenge here is how to find pieces that are authentic. You can always go to Vintage Yard for lovely vintage pieces. I have seen a couple of pieces that are interesting and what is good is that it can be worn unconventionally too. You will find more about this later.
So how can you use your vintage pieces creatively? Here are some tips:
Your vintage earrings can be used as brooches, accents for scarves & tops. If you want to have some nice bling in your hair, you can use it as pin! You can also add them to straps of dresses and tank tops or flip flops!
Vintage rings:
While vintage rings are mostly extreme – large, funky to small and dainty, you can always use them in multiples! Use two rings in one finger or use one huge ring for your hand! Make sure you don’t go overboard.
If it will be too long for you, layer them up as a bracelet.
See? The possibilities are endless!
While most would have shopped for a colon cleanser to get rid of all the things they ate over the holidays, I had my last shopping for the year at Bath and Body Works. After all, who could resist a Yellow Duck Sale when almost everything is 75% off and the classic collections make a comeback?
Suffice to say, I hoarded. Big time. This time, I spent more on travel anti-bacterial lotions and hand sanitizers because I keep one in my bag all the time.
I also got a lot of antibacterial soaps because I plan to give some to my mother and sell the others.
I tried the scented oils as well – I love a good-smelling (and clean) house, so I hope the scents I chose are good.
I only got the moisturizing lotion in my signature scent: Japanese Cherry Blossom. I ordered two new scents for me to try too: Twilight Woods and PS I Love You.
