I honestly believe that the first holiday of any year, aside from Chinese New Year, is Valentine’s Day. I am actually the Valentine Grinch, opposing (overpriced) flowers, overflowing chocolates, the color red and hearts all over the metropolis, overbooked restaurants and hotels and traffic everywhere. But then again, if someone gave me jewellry, I might change my mind.

Jewellry remains to be one of the Top Valentine’s Day Gifts of every year. In fact, a certain percentage of men have this unique idea of proposing marriage to their special someone on Valentine’s Day.

So, who would not want to have Tiffany Jewellry for Valentine’s Day? I personally would LOVE to have this:
It’s a classic bracelet and I am sure you must have seen this everywhere worn by women. But I like it because it can be worn with anything – with jeans for a trip to the mall, with slacks to accessorize in the office, even as a simple accessory for date nights (even weddings!).
How do you solve those Algebra problems back in high school and college?
Solving algebra problems is something one needs to have mastered back in school. Mathematics, albeit difficult, is an exact science. Therefore, if you are systematic and precise, you will always get the correct answer no matter what. However, most students forget How to do algebra problems! If you have not mastered it in high school, you will most definitely have a harder time in college.
College Algebra Problems are more complex and require more analytical thinking. You will be putting all the principles in use. If you need help (it doesn’t hurt to admit it, you know!), you can always seek help online! Yes, ONLINE! Tutor Vista gives out Algebra Homework Help amongst other subjects. You will have your own Algebra Tutor who will guide you in a one-on-one chat in an exclusive chatroom with drawing board!
I don’t know about you but I am so loving the designs coming out for scrub suits these days. Nurses must have been a field day, having more options than the usual green, blue and grey drab colors for people in the medical field before. There are nice Cherokee pants for men in ScubsandBeyond.com.
I personally like the cherokee scrubs, it feels like you are not reporting for work in the hospital with how fashionable they are!
There are also discount scrubs, scrubs for all sizes (even plus sizes and maternity!) and student scrubs. You can get discounts if you buy in group or bulk as well. They even offer matching nursing clogs.
If you look closely, they are Tinkerbell clogs. They feature character scrubs which are great for nurses who work in the pediatric ward.There are Baby Looney Tunes, Tweety Bird, Care Bears, Hello Kitty, Tinkerbell, Winnie the Pooh and Skelanimals!
If you want to know more about pottery, I suggest you learn through the experts first. You can get an instructional video on wheel throwing at the AMACO/Brent web site. The instructor is no less than Dee Schaad, Art and Design Department Chairman at the University of Indianapolis. He introduces new ceramic artists to throwing on a potter’s wheel by demonstrating the basics for creating a cylinder, small bowl, large bowl, and trimming. He also recommends the tools needed for each technique.It comes in DVD, 42 minutes in length.
Of course the trademark of Brent® potters wheels is unmistakable. Potters around the globe know the trademark gold slash pans as its mark.
If you are interested in slab tiles and plates, you can get slab rollers. A slab roller is a simple and effective way of making large areas or numbers of clay slabs. They take the hard work out of rolling, and replace the old fashioned rolling pin and rolling guides. A good slab roller will speed up the production time of potters who make slab plates & tiles, make pottery classroom activities easier & less messy, and ensure a better quality slab. It is even endorsed by Corey Jefferson, Ceramic Instructor – Heron School of Art and Designs
Sooner or later, all women would need a hobby aside from shopping as an outlet of release for stress. Many women have turned to the tried and tested gardening, crocheting, knitting, baking and cross-stitching. But have you ever tried pottery? Remember how the character of Demi Moore in the movie Ghost used that as a hobby and a business? It can be really relaxing.
You can get american art clay from AMACO/Brent. AMACO owns Brent®, the most popular line of potter’s wheels, which features equipment suitable for the contemporary studio market that can reduce costs and increase profits, so that studio customers of all ages can throw pots and decorate them. You can even find neighborhood clay studios where you can learn the art of clay plate glazing (using hump molds). You need a hand extruder to make pots too.
Look at what you can do:
Women often need to invest on at least a piece or two of nice evening wear. You will never know when the next office party, date with your special someone or evening function will be. The key here is to invest on classic pieces (like, say, the classic LBD – little black dress) and use accessories and outer cloth pieces to have different looks.
Here are some classic pieces in Roman Originals that will look great with few accessories. Remember, sometimes less is more!
Evening dresses can be short like these:
While they can also be long ones. Usually, attire will be labelled as “formal” or “long gown” for these:
Remember that evening wear need not be dresses all the time, you can have and should mix and match tops and skirts!
Here are some pieces that will help you get more looks:
* Cashmere Shawl
* Evening Gloves
* Evening Handbags
* Hair Accessories
* Handbags
* Hosiery
* Silk Scarf
* Women’s Closed-toed Shoes
* Women’s Dress Shoes
* Bracelets
* Earrings
* Necklaces
One tip on using earrings, evaluate your outfit – should it be elegant or fun? Then decide whether to use studs or drop earrings. While closed toe shoes are the norm for evening wear, sexy sandals and heels are now accepted. Go with gloves to the opera, a debutante ball or the Ascot races.
Carry a beaded bag or purse large enough to hold business cards, keys, cash and lipstick.
Accessories can make, break or put a spice to any outfit. While accessories consist of bags, head pieces, earrings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets, watches and what-have-you’s, usually, accessories are all about jewellery!
It is always wise to invest on jewellery pieces. Jewelry made of gold and silver have never been known to depreciate in value – it is wiser to invest on them instead of designer bags and shoes.
It is nice that jewellery have expanded to fit into eclectic, modern and contemporary styles. And since turquoise has officially been chosen by Pantone to be the color of the year, I am showing some awesome pieces from Astley Clarke:
From Left to Right:
- Sabine Earrings
- Bobeche Necklace
- Sirocco Earrings
- Small Evil Eye Pendant
I personally prefer the Sirocco Earrings. Retailing at £450 , these are 18ct yellow gold earrings with turquoise quartz made in Italy. Featuring a square faceted icy blue hydro-thermal quartz beautifully contrasted in an 18ct yellow gold claw setting. The translucent quartz measures 9mm by 9mm and including the hinged ear wire has a total drop of 17mm. This pair of earrings is perfect for everyday wear.
Here is one tip: Invest on classic dress pieces and change accessories to completely change your look. For example, your little black dress can transform into many looks for the night with the right accessory! Simple, elegant, minimalist to fun, seductive, flirty – that can be set by simple studs or dangling hoops or drop earrings!
I was looking for birth announcements online to help a friend who just delivered her first baby (By the way, 2010 is baby boom year! So many of my friends are expecting or going to deliver!), when I chanced upon spring fashion trends predicted this year 2010.
Check them out.
I think it’s going to be a year of extremes – leather and pastels and form fitting to ultra-loose fabrics. It’s going to be an interesting year!
Aside from new pumps, dresses, make-ups, we are sure to see stunning women cars (that cost double or triple than Ferrari parts) and the classic women dialogues we have to quote from SATC episodes. I personally can’t wait to watch it!
I have seen a few sneak peaks and I saw Samantha in a wedding gown, an ensemble that resembles Madonna, Cindi Lauper and Debbie Gibson from the 80’s and B-A-B-I-E-S!
Shopping soared to amazing heights once online stores opened and virtual shopping can be done anytime and anywhere. Advertisements played a big role to challenge women’s control on spending. If not for anything else, impulsive buys due to sales multiplied many times over because anybody can order from anywhere. These days, stores accept check by phone as well, for people who do not trust the security of stores with their credit cards and would rather prefer to pay in cash.
I, for one, am an advocate of online shopping. As I hate crowds and walking.
