If you are thinking of getting a digital perm, ask anybody and they will tell you only one thing: “Go to Tony and Jackey.” Ever since we saw the invasion of lovely Korean women in TV with soft, bouncy curls and Hollywood female celebrities donning curls, curls became the new “sexy hair.” Perms are not as dangerous as before too, ever since they went digital. You can learn more about it in this post.
According to Wikipedia:
“A digital perm is a perm which uses hot rods with the temperature regulated by a machine, which has a digital display, hence the name. However, the process of the perm is quite analogous. The name “Digital Perm” is also copyrighted by a Japanese company, PAIMORE Co., Ltd.[1] Hair stylists usually call it a “hot perm”, but it is commonly known as a “digital perm”.”
I had my hair permed and according to my stylist, digital perm relaxes into waves in 4-6 weeks. So it is a no-no to have it brushed. It will also frizz more if you brush it. (You can say I havent brushed my hair in 3 weeks). I originally wanted the nice wavy pictures I see on magazines and TV and he told me that in time it will be like that, but it will be a waste of money if I have it done the way I like it.
I had my perm done in 4 hours and had the Korean stylist doing everything for me, with 2 helpers giving him what he needs. My hair was first shampooed, blow dried and then cut. He cut my hair when it was dry. Then it was treated because according to him, it was dry, brittle and thin. After that, my hair was coated with color (hair manicure), rinsed off – then set into curls and into the digital perming machine. It was treated after and voila, curly sue hair!
We are all lucky to live in a very technologically-advanced world these days. Everything can be done online, we can do things with a flicker of the remote. For women, we can shop online, multitask, and even have the luck to enjoy gadgets that are fashionable and hip!
Who says you can’t merge technology and functionality with fashion?
Now you can!
We used to think of laptops as boxy and heavy, now with the advent of netbooks, most of what you see career women tote are fashionable netbooks in very feminine colors, with matching mouse pads to boot. The purchase of a laptop is entirely dependent on the user’s preference. Style would always be included in a woman’s choice.
Career women always on the go and use it mainly for communication (e-mail, Skype and messengers) with officemates and clients might just need a very light laptop with internet functionality. Artists, graphic designers and those involved with photography might need one with more hard disk (HD) space, memory (RAM), and a nice video card. Students need one with enough space for MS Professional/Basic.
The minimum specifications of your laptop should include:
- Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity
- 2 to 4 USB 2.0 ports
- 2 hours battery life
- 512MB memory
- 60GB hard drive capacity
- Full one year warranty
Consider what you are going to use it for and then go from there. Also consider your budget. Don’t pay too much for a laptop with features you will never actually use. And of course, unless you’re a millionaire, your budget probably would be limited. Shop around. Visit as many computer shops as you can. You must learn to compare prices or you would later feel that you have been ripped off with your purchase.Learn to read and trust reviews. But don’t read just one review. You’ll never know because it might be a sponsored review or that the reviewer was actually biased. Read at least three reviews for a specific laptop model that you want. And consider only the reviews from reputable and trusted websites and publications.
Computers are becoming an indispensable part of our day to day life. Whether you are a professional or whether you work from home or your office, each and every one of us is in the need of a computer all the time. Laptops have also become very important because they are giving us the facility to move around and at the same time be able to be connected.
Toshiba laptops have always had a good reputation for being the sturdiest laptops in the market, with customer feedback saying their Toshiba laptops last from six years and up. Toshiba laptops can be up to 50% more expensive than the cheapest models on the market with the same processor, RAM and so on, simply due to the cost of the better build quality and having to pay Japanese workers’ salaries. But if you think about the price you will pay with the years of service it will give to you, consider yourself more than paid.

Drinking water (or water from our faucets) has always been treated with chemicals, we all know that. Fluoride has always been added in minute amounts to our water supply due to the fact that as many as 60-90% of schoolchildren and the vast majority of adults were suffering from tooth decay. This is not a statistic that counts in children and adults from third world countries even. Tooth decay is a major health concern in most industrialized nations. Nowadays though you can find your supply for fluoride in toothpastes and other sources that there have been groups arguing the safety and over all beneficial advantages of fluoridation (putting fluoride in water).
Many have claimed that fluoride is a natural occurring chemical substance in water – which might be true but fluoridation in water is not done by this natural chemical but by adding a toxic waste byproduct called fluorosilicic acid.
Calls for stopping fluoridation to our water system have been ongoing but at the same time families should take aggressive steps to filter our fluoride in their water at home. Fluoride Water Filters would help out in ensuring that your children won’t ingest fluoride, which has been found to cause even advanced tooth decay in recent years. You can find the best Water Filter Pitchers at FriendsofWater.com. Fluoride Filters are recommended for drinking water and you can get countertop fluoride filters connected to your drinking faucet supply. The countertop fluoride water filter removes fluoride, chlorine, chlorination by-products, heavy metals, lead, arsenic and several hundred other contaminants leaving not just great tasting water, but truly healthy water, with natural trace elements and a good pH.
The pieces are perfect for that girl who pines to wear vintage, but doesn’t have the time or patience to sift through thrift store racks. And here comes my affinity with white things. While most people get turned on with women who wear the Little Black Dress, nothing makes me look twice than a woman in white who can appear both sexy, untouchable, ethereal and womanly all at the same time.
Military influences are everywhere this spring, and this Gap Infantry jacket ($79.50) is a nice reprieve from the harsh lines and shoulder pads on a structured blazer.
I can’t get enough white blouses for spring, and this Gap Lightweight embroidered blouse ($64.50) can take you from work, to the weekends, to a more formal event if you tuck it into a skirt.
White jeans are my summer favorite, check out our guide to the best white jeans, and these Gap Cropped white wash skinny jeans ($69.50) are the perfect length for your sandals and flats.
I have always been a jeans and shirt kind of woman – I stick to the classics, and often love mixing cotton with distressed jeans with an accent of dainty things, be it color, lace of jewelries.
Here are my top picks:

I got this from Magnums last Friday, tax free, free shipping with a $10 off to boot. And yes, it was on clearance (It was selling for 93$!!!)

Participating in a trade show for children’s clothing can be an expensive proposition for exhibitors. Whether you plan to attend in a trade show or become an exhibitor, you must consider the cost of travel, marketing materials, children’s clothing samples, displays, booth rentals, and more.
As the owner of a children’s clothing company, you’ll need to decide whether attending a show is the best way to introduce your line of children’s clothing or other product line. You may want to consider less expensive alternatives, such as online marketplaces, sales representatives, or social networks.
It’s best to participate in children’s clothing shows that best suit your particular type of product, as well as the prospective buyers to whom you wish to appeal. The Internet is a good resource for finding information about any type of company. However, it isn’t always obvious what to expect from a children’s clothing show based on a company’s web page. Consider the following ideas before attending one:
1. Contact the show’s staff to find out which children’s clothing markets and buyers the show caters to, and whether or not their product is a good fit for those buyers.
2. Talk to the representatives of children’s clothing stores you hope to sell to, and find out which shows they attend.
3. Seek information from children’s clothing sales representatives who have insight and experience with trade shows. Also talk to their peers to find out which shows they have had success with.
4. Learn from experience. A show might turn out to be a poor fit for a particular brand, but it’s a great place to learn from others.
5. Finally, if you’ve participated in a trade show as an exhibitor or buyer, what has your experience been?
Federal law gives all U.S. citizens access to one free credit report per year by logging on to annualcreditreport.com. Free credit scores and reports make it easier for consumers to take control of their finances and find inaccurate information in their credit histories. Many people, however, misunderstood the law. This presented an opportunity for credit reporting agencies to make money from unsuspecting consumers who think they are entitled to free credit scores directly from the agencies. A new law that went into effect on April 2nd will make it more difficult for credit agencies to make money from unsuspecting consumers.
Experian’s "Free" Credit Score
Experian paid more than one million dollars in fines to the FTC between 2005 and 2007 for tricking consumers into taking "free credit reports" that were not actually free. When individuals provided their information to Experian to get the supposedly free credit score or report, they were actually signing up for a service called "Triple Advantage," a credit monitoring service that costs up to $14.95 per month. The Experian website, however, did not explain this well. The end result was that they made money by providing a service to people who did not even know that they had signed up for it. Instead of getting a free credit score, they got monthly charges on their credit card bills.
New FTC Laws Change Free Credit Score Offers
The new law prevents credit agencies from advertising free credit reports that are linked to subscriptions without specifically letting consumers know what they are signing up for. In response, Experian has decided to charge a one dollar fee, which they donate to charity. While conforming to the letter of the new law, it hardly honors the spirit. Consumers seeking free credit scores and reports still have the option to get the information from annualcreditreport.com.
Elements of the game we know as poker have been a part of card games going back to Pochspiel, a German game that used bluffing, betting, and rankings. Some have argued that the game descended from As Nas, a Persian card game that had no exact description before 1890.
The Mississippi River region provided the staging ground for poker to mature into the game it is today. Between the late 1700s and the mid-1800s, poker spread through the area hand-in-hand with commercial gambling, and became a part of the lore of the American West. During this period, the flush was added as a hand, and "draw" games were introduced. The 52-card deck became standard, replacing the use of a 20-card deck. In 1870, the wild card feature was added.
Through this time, poker became linked with western expansion, and so, it became an integral part of American culture and language. Phrases like "royal flush," "beats me," "wild card," and "when the chips are down" all originated from poker play.
Poker saw another spike in popularity in the early 1970s with the premier of the WSOP, or the World Series of Poker.
The WSOP is an annual poker tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Poker players from all over the world gather to gamble against each other, competing for the enormous monetary prizes and the coveted World Series of Poker bracelet. The WSOP is the most well known poker tournament. Since 1970, it has grown in size and popularity, now standing as the de facto pinnacle in poker play.
Today, poker is available online in both free and gambling forms. College campuses have become hotbeds for the game, with "poker nights" springing up. Films such as "The Sting," "Rounders," and "Maverick" permeate culture with the game.
And who knows? Maybe the next WSOP winner is dealing you your hand right now.
