I remember the hotel that was featured in the movie Sex and City 2. Opulence is the first word that comes to mind when I remember the luxury and the great richness every room has in that movie. it was like a scene straight out of the times of Egypt and Cleopatra! I know UAE is the seventh biggest country for oil reserves, so there is no wonder they are a a very rich country. I wonder how their citizens invest their money. Do they buy gold coins?

It has been said that gold is a better and wise investment these days than anything in the financial market offerings. I tend to agree because gold has been used as a gauge of wealth since time immemorial.

I have always wondered how women can go crazy and buy shoes worth a thousand dollars only to have them touch the ground and wear them down. Until I went crazy and started lusting after designer shoes as well. The only consolation I have is I have size 11 feet so buying shoes are hard for me especially since I live in an Asian country where median shoe size is 5! So when I find a store that carries my size, I hoard. I also plan purchases overseas over shoe sales – that’s how much I love shoes.

I am not exactly one who wears high heels like Carrie Bradshaw all the time. I am 5’8” and a bit on the heavy side (and I live in a country where most women are petite) so wearing three inch heels is like telling people not to go near me. But once in a while, I try and not act as self-conscious as I am because I am taller than the rest of the crowd.

Cheap Shoes are hard to find especially in styles you like, so when a particular shoe store goes on sale, I try and make budget for it and buy around as many pairs as I can. ShoeOcean.com has a variety of shoes from heels to wedges, sandals and boots and I am reminded I need reserve heels for parties that may arise.

My tummy area has been my biggest clothing problem ever. I don’t have much of a chest to balance it out so I always look like I am 9 months pregnant. I need to camouflage the belly – if it stays hidden I can pass for a plus sized woman anytime. But when it is not, I always get mistaken for a pregnant mom. I won’t be wearing any breeches that’s for sure!

Dressing to cover up a tummy isn’t as simple as finding the biggest shirt you can find to cover it up—what you want to do is find clothing that brings the eye to other fab areas like your arms or chest and that don’t cling to the belly. Avoid horizontal stripes near the belly (horizontal lines widen and shorten an area) and too-tight unbreathable fabrics. Satin and embellishments near the tummy are to be avoided. Wear them closer to the face to draw attention upwards and away from your belly. A great pair of heels that you feel comfortable in will help to elongate the body’s proportions.

Here are some cuts of tops and dress styles that will be helpful:

The colors for the upcoming Balenciaga Fall 2010 collection has just come out and I am singling out two colors. If only these gorgeous bags go on sale during Black Friday! But no such luck. Maybe when I get extremely lucky (and my kids don’t eat for a year), I can own one next year – never say never!

The Murier stands out but I am drawn to Bois de Rose and Seigle the most, their colors are very neutral yet unique and Bois de Rose has shades of pink on its brownish hues, I can tell. Friends said that you need to see the colors in a bag up close and personal because pictures can get quite tricky and I have to agree.

Look at the Seigle in Giant City:

It retails at $1,795 – wait, did your heart just stop from reading that? :P

Shall we be expecting some gorgeous babies on baby announcements in 9 months to the day (or less?) Paparazzi web blogs have been saying that Jennifer Garner and Gwen Stefani are pregnant again, both of them with their child. They posted pictures of suspicious baby bumps (which if you ask me can just be bloat). Neither of them have publicly confirmed it, but it is nice to know that Hollywood is making babies left and right with marriages still intact. Let’s hope they don’t divorce ten years down the road.

Jennifer Garner – pregnant again?

I am so glad I became a nurse when the time evolved from wearing generic green scrubs (or blue) and white uniforms during nursing duty. There are very fashionable medical scrubs and uniforms out in the market today and you can still have fun in uniform (and be fashionable).

I am so loving the Koi prints collection – it is definitely summer! And who says you can’t wear fabulous prints when on nursing duty? You would not even think these are nursing scrub uniforms – and that is a compliment!

1.Koi Bridgette Whimsical print scrub top.

I personally love the elastic shirring at neckline and sleeves. The big girl print in a fabulous purple color is great too!

2. Koi Demi Bloom print scrub top.

I love the demi body style with sweetheart neckline. And the big flower prints. This would look perfect in my body size.

2. Koi Bridgette Mermaid print scrub top.

I think patients would instantly perk up with all the lively colors and fun prints of the nursing uniforms their attending nurses if they them!

Even the nurses shoes have some style already. They are no longer your ordinary clogs. They have a flower pattern!

A friend recently had a problem with her current web hosting provider that she needed to switch providers immediately as her work is in the line. It was a good thing that we have a very close-knit of friends who are bloggers as well. She was referred to two providers she can choose from who have great feedbacks: HostMonster and BlueHost.

Here are some of the points about each company so you can compare too, just in case you need to switch hosting providers as well:

We are a family with big feet. Seriously. I wear size 11 shoes, my husband wears an 11, my daughter who is only four, wears size 12 and my son, who is only 9, wears an 8. We actually buy shoes more often than clothes because we wear them down to their early death all the time. Add to our big feet is the fact that three of us, except my husband, are flat-footed. So we need form-fitting shoes that are of high quality but doesn’t sacrifice fashion and style. Shoes with those criteria are hard to find and if we do find shoes that fit all of our standards, it can get quite pricey. It is a good thing that I have discovered the value and wisdom of online shopping – I can scout for shoes, even boys sandals for my nephew, without having to pay for my gasoline and food while I go to the malls.

Have you ever wondered how to fit your kid’s feet correctly? At Start-rite, they share a video on how to correctly measure your children’s shoe size.I have done this so I can buy shoes for them online and do not need to carry them along when I buy shoes at the mall.

I have been invited to a number of events for the upcoming months – a concert, a fashion show and a wedding expo. I turned down the wedding expo since I am already married, though I actually considered going just to see what is the latest trend in the wedding industry. I also wanted to reconnect with some of my wedding suppliers who have become our friends.

These events actually drew me in because of one detail – their invitations were eye-catching, interesting and the design piqued my curiosity. Custom Printing has always been the trend for shows and weddings but lately is has come in all forms of shapes and sizes. For example, the concert tickets came in the form of plastic IDs with tags. Since the concert grounds will be standing room only, having IDs will help identify paying concert goers. Plastic Card Printing are done My1Stop.com. Their VIP cards can pass for membership cards for prestigious clubs. Again, I love how everything is customizable!

  • Instant Online Quotes
  • 30 mil white composite plastic card material available
  • 30, 24, 20, 15, 12 and 10 mil PVC card material also available
  • 3 3/8" x 2 1/8" -  Credit Card Size

Label Printing is also done at their site and you can have nameplates, name overlays, parking permits, bottle labels – everything you need as a label, they can produce, customized to your liking!

Have you ever thought of getting married in such a unique way in a very special place? I have seen weddings in submarines, during diving sessions, in cemeteries and in helicopters – why not try exchanging I do’s in a Sedona hot air balloon?

image If you are in Arizona, the Sedona hot air balloon rides is a must-try, even if you are not getting married. Sedona balloon rides are given by different companies, but those given by Sky High Balloons offer a unique twist – with their famous "Splash ‘n Dash" where the balloon descends momentarily on water for a gentle ride. This fantastic flight also offers low contour flying for spotting native wildlife and an ascent for just a hint of high altitude enjoyment.

Here are some details you might want to check out in their Wedding Package:

• They will pick you up at your hotel and take you back when its over.
• You can have a total of up to six (6) people on your private flight (depending on weight).
• They supply a “commemorative Picnic” including a wedding cake!
