Fashionable Scrub Uniforms

Fashion has truly changed everyone, including the health care industry. Before scrub suits in the hospital were always plain, usually in the colors of grey, green and blue. Imagine how scrubs for women looked like. Thankfully, studies have shown that  patients in a hospital setting respond better to people wearing lively colors and prints, most especially kids who associate white with doctors and nurses and are generally scared of them right away. That is why scrub uniforms are now available in different colors and some of them are in different prints too.

Back then, nursing uniforms were always in uncomfortable white dresses, complete with white stockings and white shoes. It is still being practiced today, but when student nurses go into different hospital internship practices, they are allowed to wear scrub suits as well. It helps them move around easier and more comfortably.

Going on a Dream Honeymoon

A friend is getting married in a few months and one thing they have not finalized yet is their honeymoon. They are both well-traveled so they are having some difficulty deciding where to go because they want a destination that they both have not been to yet.

They are skipping the local offerings because they have both traveled within the country extensively both for pleasure and for business. They are setting their sights on a European honeymoon because Europe is one place that they both have not toured yet. Their only concern is their budget because the wedding is already a huge expense. My friend is even willing to stay in cheap hotels in London city centre just to be able to have their dream honeymoon.

According to her, a tour around Europe need not be very expensive. She is now researching everything that she can if they do push through with a European tour. She has lists of places to eat and stay that are on the lower end of the budget spectrum. She is also listing down their projected expenses on transportation, entrance fees, and other miscellaneous things. She is keeping her fingers crossed that after the research and the computations, the total amount would still be within their budget.

Pink October: The Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is just around the corner and we will be seeing a lot of Pink Ribbons once again. Breast cancer is one of the most treatable types of cancer if detected early, and for easier recall, it is now associated with a pink ribbon like the one you see in the picture. This is why spreading information about the disease is very important. Everyone should know their risk of developing the disease and how to check for symptoms so that proper intervention is given.

In support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PositivePromotions.com is selling Breast Cancer Awareness merchandise like mugs, t-shirts, pens, bags, sport bottles, planners, key chains, calendars, bracelets, pins, and many more. Despite the noble idea of spreading awareness for breast cancer through these merchandises, some people actually think that selling fundraising products for businesses is exploitative. However, a lot of businesses who like to show their support for this advocacy find it very convenient to do so by distributing these merchandises to employees, clients, and customers. Aside from selling these merchandises, PositivePromotions.com is also having a contest among customers by asking them to share their stories. More details about the contest are available at their website.

Regardless of the arguments of those who are against selling such items, what is important is that awareness for breast cancer is increased not just during the month of October but for every month of the year.

Boots You Can Wear Until Spring

Aside from looking for some herbal diet pills that work, I have been looking for some workable boots for my height and built that I can actually wear many times. It needs to be flat, not embellished and classic enough to be worn with anything, if you get my drift.

I saw these online and wonder if I can carry knee high boots:

The secret to a slim silhouette come fall is tall black over the knee boots worn over leggings, skinny jeans and jeggings. Nordstom’s shoe clearance sale is up to 40% off, so get a pair now: Stuart Weitzman ‘Hammer’ over the knee boots ($349.90, from $595), but if they’re not in your price range, go for these Steven by Steve Madden ‘Sabra’ over the knee boots ($199.90, from $299.95). which are nearly identical, save the buckles and exposed zipper. Michael Michael Kors Bromely over the knee boots ($199.90, from $249.95) also come in a rich brown color; Steve Madden Linderr boots ($149.90, from $199.95).

Get the Look for Less: Katherine Heigl

It’s cardigan season and Katherine surely rocked it without having to look granny-ish! Katherine has an adopted daughter and has not disclosed any plans of conceiving anytime soon so she doesn’t need any recommendations for a stretch mark cure, for one! I would definitely love to be able to get a boyfriend striped cardigan together with a great pair of jeans soon!

Longchamp Wishlist

I really do not need indoor tanning lotions as much as Longchamp bags but I could not resist lusting after these beauties. I do not know if I can justify buying these all as all three can buy me a Gucci bag or help me buy my coveted Balenciaga. Maybe someday I can actually own everything without having to limit myself to one!

My wishlist:

Longchamp Planetes Raisin

Longchamp Eiffel Black & Gold

Longchamp Lafayette
