Princess Beatrice’s royal hat is finally up for auction in eBay, with proceeds going to charity. The hat is now at $10,000 and while it didn’t serve its purpose wowing people during the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Princess William and Kate Middleton), at least the Philip Treacy hat will serve its purpose and give to people in need. I bet those with royal blood are laughing over tea and smoking on ashton cigars because of ridiculous high price. Who would want to use the hat anyway, or even keep it for posterity’s sake? (Just my humble opinion.)
Diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies. These are only some of the precious stones found in expensive jewelries. These stones are also called gemstones and are known for their translucency and hardness. They are cut and polished according to the shape of the jewelry. There is really no exact or fixed value for the amount of these stones. It all depends on its rarity and quality.
Many jewelry collectors buy and sell jewelry in auctions because they find the most unique jewelries and stones from these events most of the time. They also get to bid for the amount of each item and it somehow thrills them to know that there are other people willing to spend a big amount of money for these kinds of luxuries.
Aside from auctions, people who are interested in buying less expensive jewelries can also try shopping online. There are some people who sell jewelry online since this is the most convenient way of looking for a prospective buyer.
Aside from jewelries being one of the most expensive collections, another one is the collection of rare coins. There are also some people who sell coins online and through auctions. Coins can be very expensive depending on the longevity of its existence. As a collector, you should have a good eye in inspecting its authenticity because some can be fakes.
Luxuries are not bad as long as you don’t overdo yourself into buying very expensive things. Remember to spend only for your necessities and not so much of your wants and other vices.
I am an avid collector of all things unnecessary. My husband likens it a hoarder – but I do collect things in phases. First, it was stationeries, then notebooks, to pens then shoes and bags. He doesn’t know whether to let me collect useless “stuff” or “expensive things”.
I was advised that if ever there is one thing I would decide to collect, it should be something that will have a high appraisal value in time – like jewelry, designer bags or the ordinary extraordinary things like stamps and coins. You would not believe how much rare coins could cost 20 years from now. If you have seen the movie or read the book called Dear John, there is a character there who amassed a fortune because of his coin collection.
Whether you collect stamps and need a stamp album, or collect coins, you can get all the coin collecting supplies you need at Lindner-USA.com. They have different variations of a Coin box that you can display your coins with.
If you are going to be serious with your coin collection, you need a coin book guide, coin box, magnifier, some type of table lamp, coin holders and cleaning supplies.
Make sure you invest in good quality items that will last a long time. Don’t settle for items that may not be worth the money you spent on them. This will ensure that you are happy with your investment and that you have the proper coin collecting tools to enjoy your coin collection. Of course, you don’t really need any special coin collecting tools to view your coins, but a few good basic accessories can make your hobby easier.
