A good friend lost her bag and all its contents over the weekend. Her make-up bag, which had ALL her make-up, was in the bag. Now she has no make-up and needs to build her stash again. Dessert Gifts cannot even console her.
It was an eye-opener for us. We should not keep all our make-up in the bag, since we don’t really use them all the time. A fashionista recommended we have the basic items in our make-up bag:
1) A good eyelash curler. Seriously, you’ve got to see the difference it makes. Insane. A portable one is great because they’re super tiny and can easily fit into any makeup bag.
2) A dark eyeliner. Black or brown or both. Non-negotiable.
3) Mascara. It can be thickening, lengthening, volumizing. Dramatic lashes just make you look more awake and “with it.” Plus, it keeps focus on your eyes and not on, say, a big pimple.
4) Lipstick. One light, one dark.
5) A subtle sparkly eye shadow. Beige works. So does champagne. Just look for something light that shimmers. You can put it in your lids for a soft, girlie effect, in your inner corners to open your eyes up or along your cheekbones to make them look higher. So versatile! An acceptable substitute: Highlighter.

Who doesn’t want to have Katy Perry’s gorgeous (sometimes outrageous) eye make-up? She piles on the make-up and falsies and have collaborated on having her own line. Katy Perry For Eylure Lashes Are Here! Shop Styles Like ‘Cool Kitty’ And ‘Oh, Honey’ Now!
I personally like Katy Perry. I find her very pretty even if her fashion choices are a bit on the controversial and eclectic side. She has very pretty eyes! I wonder if she finished an Online English degree or any degree at all? She is a teenage pop idol, and many kids look up to her!
Such a jean-ius play on words don’t you think?

Similar to how the word yoyo has such great recall with the toy, the word jeans has become strongly related to the color blue. This is why MAC (I think!) decided to name its new limited edition eyeshadow name after. It comes in four colors that replicate different denim hues – Diva in Distress, Motorhead, StovePipe Black and White Jeanius. The one pictures above is Motorhead.
Diva In Distress Mid-tone gray with silver pearl (Limited Edition)
Motorhead Mid-tone blue with copper pearl (Limited Edition)
Stove Pipe Black Black with copper pearl (Limited Edition)
White Jeanius White with silver pearl (Limited Edition)
Each shadow is about $20 and is part of a limited edition collection, so if you want it:
Launch Date: March 3, 2011 for North America, March 2011 for International.

It seems we haven’t even really experienced winter yet (no snowstorms and shoveling 12 feet of snow and no cases of road trip medical assistance – thankfully) and we are celebrating spring already! MAC is already promoting their spring limited edition collection and I personally love all the pinks and greens!

Brilliant butterflies, flashy florals and gorgeously geometric graphics…A colourful collaboration between M·A·C and the artist known worldwide as Vera, who merged fine arts with linens, murals, textiles and silk scarves in her punchy, painted patterns. Now in shades plucked straight from her most lavish prints, M·A·C Vera embraces the luxe, lighter-than-air spirit that delivers the kind of startling, look-at-me statement that defines what it means to be an instant classic. Limited Edition.
Launch Date:
February 16, 2012 in North American, March 2012 at international MAC locations

If men would love to get cheap acid cigars as one of their stocking stuffers, I am sure women would love to get anything MAC – Mac Pink Noveau most especially. I have been seeing this lipstick a lot lately and I was tempted to get it myself but am not quite sure if it would suit me. I got a similar shade from the Body Shop and so far nobody has ever said it didn’t look nice on me.
So maybe I can afford to get this by Christmas?

You are looking at the very first unretouched make-up ad!
You’re looking at the gorgeous ad for Make Up For Ever spring 2011. Make Up For Ever launched this campaign to show women that we can be flawless without resorting to digital retouching. It’s no secret that camera’s can pick-up on imperfections, especially when there’s tons of lights highlighting them, but the Make up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation range can give you flawless results without any digital enhancement. It’s basically a retouching in a bottle! Celebrities get this done to achieve perfection and come across looking almost anamatronic. In recent years it has truly gotten out of hand. Well, from now on no more models shown in Make Up for Ever ads will be retouched!

Spring is here – which means it is time to show more skin! It is always best to do some exfoliating to let the glow of one’s skin after a harsh winter shine through. Don’t forget to moisturize too! The image above are what most celebrities use for their skin – and surprisingly, they are very affordable! I actually use most items off that list too!
While my husband is crazy obsessed with cars lately, even learning about aem cold air intake and oil changes (he graduated from Mechanical Engineering), I am back to my first love – make-up! I have been distracted by bags and shoes and clothes, but I have always loved make-up and skin care, moreso.
I am not splurging on anything, I still have great sets from my last haul. It’s a good thing I went into a try-it-all spree. Now I know which products are worth investing for and is compatible with skin type and chemistry. I am excited to receive my birthday gift, the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and my skin care regimen (Clinique 3 Step) is good for another year so I am all set.
I am just looking for anti-aging creams because I am in my 30s already and a good sunblock. For the body, I just turn to my all-time favorite since high school, the Body Shop!

It seems that being thirty has its perks. Even if I get to worry about age spots and wrinkles, at least I have good friends who never forget. They got the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow pallette for me for my last birthday!
Urban Decay Naked Palette ($44.00) is new-for-fall and contains twelve shades–eight are incredibly neutral, but four pack a little–much welcome–color punch. There are six permanent and existing shades, one repromoted shade, and five new shades.
The palette includes: Virgin (satin chamois), Sin (champagne), Naked (matte buff nude), Sidecar (cocoa with golden sparkle sheen), Buck (matte nutmeg), Half Baked (subtle, lustrous bronze), Smog (deep coppery bronze), Darkhorse (bronze patina), Toasted (rich copper), Hustle (plum brown satin), Creep (onyx with gold sparkle), Gunmetal (gunmetal gray with silver glitter). The final piece is a double-ended 24/7 Liner with Zero (black) on one side and Whiskey (creamy rich brown) on the other.
- Virgin is a pale, shimmered nude beige. It’s very, very light, but it’s such a beautiful neutral. It’s a little frosty for a highlighter, particularly on darker skin tones, but it would make for a great all-over wash or pop of light on the inner tear duct.
- Sin is a champagne with a touch of pink and a frostier finish. This shade is permanently available.
- Naked is a matte medium beige-brown. It has a very soft, smooth texture–not at all powdery or chalky. This shade is permanently available.
- Sidecar is a shimmered, medium bronze brown with almost a red undertone. This shade was in the first edition of the Book of Shadows. (I didn’t see it on Urban Decay’s website at all.)
- Buck is a matte darkened beige-brown. It’s really a darker version of Naked. It has the same silky smooth texture and rich color pay off of Naked, too.
- Half Baked is a coppery bronze with a frost-metallic finish. This shade is permanently available.
- Smog is a medium dark bronze with a gilded bronze sheen. This shade is permanently available.
- Darkhorse is a darkened deep chocolate brown with flecks of bronze.
- Toasted is a medium dark pinky brown with a shimmery finish. This shade is permanently available.
- Hustle is a dark plummy chocolate brown with a soft shimmer finish.
- Creep is a darkened blue-black base with silver and teal shimmer. Urban Decay said “onyx with gold glitter” but I really didn’t see the gold.
- Gunmetal is a blue-gray metallic that really must be seen to be appreciated. It almost feels like a duochrome, because it flashes blue but it’s dark and smoldering. This shade is permanently available.
The palette also contains a double-ended eyeliner, and Zero is your basic creamy black with a near-matte finish–if you’re an Urban Decay palette collector, you probably have enough Zero eyeliners to get you through the next twenty years. However, it also contains Whiskey, which is a brand new shade of creamy chocolate brown with red undertones. It’s very similar to Bourbon, but it seems a little lighter and doesn’t have the shimmer.
PROS:
- Great color section. With a total of 12 wearable neutrals ranging from light beiges and taupes to warm bronzes to dark browns and charcoals, this palette has everything you need to create looks that are both great for work and for going out. The eyeshadows come in different textures including Matte, Satin, Shimmer and Sparkle, making the palette truly versatile.
- Great pigmentation. As with most Urban Decay eyeshadows, these babies – even the Matte ones – apply very smoothly with superb pigmentation.
- Great value. A regular Urban Decay eyeshadow retails $17 a pop and with this, you get 12 along with a trial size of the famous Primer Potion and a double ended 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Zero and Whiskey for $44! How can you beat that?
So maybe some of these stars are guilty of taking testoripped to lose weight fast, it has worked miracles! Here are some beauty trends we spotted on the red carpet:
1. Elegant Up-dos were everywhere. My favorites were from Lea Michele and Amy Adams.

Amy went for a modern, textured ’20s look. The loose strands around her face gave it an easy, undone feel. (LOVE THIS!)
Here was how it was done:
From Fab Sugar:
For her hair, Essensuals London owner Laini Reeves created a low, tousled bun. She rough-dried Amy’s hair for volume and went in with a curling iron to create messy texture. She pulled all of Amy’s hair together in a loose braid, and then rolled it up and pinned it to the nape of her neck. To finish off, she pulled a few strands out and curled them with a curling iron.
2. Chic Ponytails too!
Amber Riley’s askew ponytail (gotta love those curls!)

And J.Lo’s clean ponytail:

From the front, Jennifer’s ponytail looks sleek and stylish, but from the back, things got a little more interesting. A sparkling hair accessory gave a glamorous touch, while the double ponytail created lots volume and texture.
But if you ask me which hair and make-up really stood out, I would go with these three: Milla Jovovich, Halle Berry and Natalie Portman
