thakoon nars nail polish

Look at those yummy colors – very perfect for kids switch plate covers so make it more attractive right?

Thakoon’s Bollywood-goes-West Spring 2012 show was a delicious riot of print and color — and now, thanks to a just-released collaboration with Nars, the same vivid hues that made up the collection can be worn on fingertips and toes.

In keeping with Thakoon’s spiced-up Spring theme, each of the new lacquers — five of which are shoppable online now at Sephora and Nordstrom for $18 apiece — is named for a traditional Indian spice or herb. Anardana, a vivid pink, takes its name from the Hindi word for wild pomegranate seeds, while Amchoor, a bright yellow, is named after dried ground mango. A sixth color, Lal Mirchi, is a hot, tamale red and is named after — what else? — chili peppers.

Nail rock has been all the rage these days. I see them everywhere, even celebrities like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have been spotted wearing them!

Nicki isn’t the only fan of Minx printed nails — you’ve seen them on Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Beyonce, too. Now, with the latest spate of hard-polish nail decals, we mere mortals can get cool printed nails, too. Dynasty Percussion maybe a brand for musical instruments but Sally Hansen rocks nail polishes and nail care ever since.

Nail Rock even has a Folli Follie collab.

You can still have butterflies, flowers, and any animal print imaginable, but Sally Hansen and Nail Rock also offer a wide variety of solid and neutral colors for those of us with less-than-Super Bass taste.

Nail polish and nail art seem to be the trend these days. I have a lot of friends who have been hoarding a lot of polishes and I was even lured into buying some OPI polishes and the famous OPI Crackle.

I actually am trying to control myself and not buy more but I think I will be able to justify buying the ESSIE black and nude polishes. I’d love to buy more colors but do not really need to look like a peacock alley.

Here are some polishes under $5:
1. Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Color
2. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color
3. Pure Ice Nail Polish
4. American Apparel Neon Nail Lacquer
5. OPI Nail Lacquer

spring nail colors

Spring has arrived – I guess one cannot say that enough especially after enduring one of the harshest winters ever!

I am actually excited to wear flip flops again just because I can show my pretty painted toenails! I need to update the nail polish I have on our bath vanities though as the colors of this season are changing! I see more pastel hues (easter colors) but a lot of nudes (my all-time favorite!). There’s bright Regatta blue, golden yellow Beeswax, Silver Cloud gray, creamy green Peopod, teal Blue Curacao, Honeysuckle pink, Russet brown, Coral Rose orange, Silver Peony pink, and classic Lavender.

Pantone actually surveyed the designers of Fashion Week to come up with these nail color trends!

Now that you have your Christmas party dress and make-up (don’t overload on too much if you have severe acne), don’t forget to make sure you have great nails at the party! I just do not know if these are glue small rhinestones or polish WITH small rhinestones. Either way, it looks fabulous. Few women can carry it though, I can tell.

If there are fashion color trends, you need to make sure it stays all throughout your body – from head to toe. Here are some nail polish colors to get you started. Medical personnel who handle medical equipment might be exemptions here.

As with fall fashion 2010 colors, neutrals, mettalics and gem tones rule.

1. Purples: Whether it’s Purple Rain or Purple Reign, this provocative shade is leading the pack in fall nail colors.

2. Metallics: Elements of precious metals twinkle and shine throughout theses deep, eye-catching shades that pack an almost vampy, multi-hued luminosity.

3. Neutrals: If basic instinct is more your game, go with the understated power of soft cream shades that channel the crushed leaves of a crisp fall season or the buttery softness of a timeless vintage Chanel bag.

4. Gem Tones: Striking color rules with these rich, jewel-tone shades that perfectly transition your digits from a playful summer to a rich, technicolor fall.
