Fashion forecast predicts the return of the flared jeans and so many people are wondering what would be a great way to wear it, when they got used wearing the skinny jeans for a year. But like how mattresses need to be changed and dressed, so does our jeans.

In Covert Candy, you get to “swap clothes”. And isn’t this such an old concept amongst friends and relatives? Why don’t we extend it to the community and really find stuff we want – even if it’s in other people’s wardrobe! Basically, you exchange clothes with fellow members of the community (let’s say, exchange vintage jumpers for a dress), and in the process you earn points.

These points let you “buy” clothes in the shop. Now, if you analyze it, you are getting new (for you) stuff for F-R-E-E! Now, who wouldn’t want that?

I do not see vintage jewelry going out as one of the hottest trends of this year anytime soon. There are just so many possibilities as to what it can add to an outfit and how interesting they look that it won’t really go away. The challenge here is how to find pieces that are authentic. You can always go to Vintage Yard for lovely vintage pieces. I have seen a couple of pieces that are interesting and what is good is that it can be worn unconventionally too. So how can you use your vintage pieces creatively? Here are some tips:

Vintage earrings:

Your vintage earrings can be used as brooches, accents for scarves & tops. If you want to have some nice bling in your hair, you can use it as pin! You can also add them to straps of dresses and tank tops or flip flops!

Vintage rings:

While vintage rings are mostly extreme – large, funky to small and dainty, you can always use them in multiples! Use two rings in one finger or use one huge ring for your hand! Make sure you don’t go overboard.

Vintage necklaces/pendants:

If it will be too long for you, layer them up as a bracelet.
