I have decided to give running a try again. Ten years ago, I used to run track but things got busier and it was just easier if I just let go of running.
Ten years later and XXX lbs heavier, I need to take drastic action to lose weight before U hit the big 3-0. It is too bad that I have big size 11 feet, flat footed and have a tendency to overpronate my heels. Since I could not find anything in the city that I like and will fit me (hence, men’s running shoes are out of the question), I ordered it online. I went through the Nike “What’s your perfect shoe?” test and Lunar Glide+ came among the top 5. It was the nicest I saw among the five (Of course, style would always count) so it was a done deal.
For now I am going to make do with my fake sneakers while I wait for this baby to come home. It’s a good thing we have two ipods to choose from so that if ever I decide to give the Nike Sensor running kit a try, it would be easier to track my miles.
Please say a little prayer that I do this. I did a test and if I just be consistent and lose two lbs a week, I’m going to be in my ideal weight by January next year, just in time for my birthday celebration at the beach!
Nike now offers a pair that pays closer attention to the specific design of women’s feet. The Nike LunarGlide+ (P5,495) features flexible material that adjusts to women’s forefeet, the part of our feet that is most sensitive to how shoes fit and which has risk of developing bunions. LunarGlide+ is equipped with Nike’s stretchy Dynamic Fit Technology material, which expands and telescopes out to accommodate the varying width of female forefoot.
LunarGlide+ features a contoured wedge that snugly fits our midsoles and provides extra stability for running on rugged surfaces. It also has more soft foam under the heel than the men’s model so women can enjoy softer cushioning on the midsole.
I might need to get myself a pair of these!
Skechers created the revolutionary Shape Ups (P4,590) with the goal of promoting weight loss, toning muscles, and improving posture. They are fortified with a soft kinetic wedge insert and dynamic rolling outsole, which supposedly work together to achieve the same effects as walking barefoot on a soft surface.

These sneaks appear to be on the chunky side because of their thick soles, and even Skechers admits that walking in these babies may seem awkward at the beginning. But the company swears by its health and fitness benefits, which include improved blood circulation, calorie burning, and reduced cellulite.
