My sister loves Korean and Japanese music and their celebrities that it is no wonder she has began to apply Korean and Japanese fashion into her clothes. Lately, she has been using Korean make-up products as well. She is all praises for The Face Shop, comparing it to a metal building for its quality.
The Face Shop is a South Korea-based retailer of body, bath, skin care and make-up products aimed at both women and men. It was founded in 1962 as a wholesale manufacturer of cosmetics. In 2003 the first retail stores opened, and spread rapidly. As of December 2005, there were 400 Face Shop branches in South Korea. The company’s marketing is largely based on natural products. The CEO of "TheFaceShop Co., Ltd." is Jeong Un-ho. There are now stores in many countries including Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam.
If I can have Korean skin like this, I promise I will hoard Face Shop products to death:
They have the Pore Minimizer Line:
And they call it the Brightening Line – instead of whitening, because they claim your skin glows:
The Brightening Rice Cleanser
And here is what they have to say:
To achieve captivating skin, you should not stop at cleansing. Once or twice a week, apply facial masks, which wrap your skin, blocking air and other external factors, thus allowing hydrating nutrients and deep-cleansing ingredients to be sealed in the outermost layer of the skin instead of released out to the air.
Bacne: Acne that rears its ugly head on your back, chest, and/or body. Your best defense against (mild) bacne is by wearing breathable fabrics like cotton and washing with a medicated cleanser. Also be sure to remove sweaty clothing or wet bathing suits as soon as possible to avoid the spread of bacteria which can make your bacne worse.
Thigh Rub: If you have a set of juicy thighs that touch when you walk, you likely have experienced the dreaded thigh rub. If you haven’t, rejoice because it’s not pleasant. At all. Thighs that rub together create friction on the skin which leads to painful chaffing. You would need lubricant to make sure it wont happen – BodyGlide is one.
Sweat: Breathable fabrics like cotton are recommended. Try switching to a more powerful deodorant and carry some baby wipes with you to freshen up.
Sunburn: You may find relief with some aspirin and aloe-based lotions. Cool baths are also an option, but avoid scrubs, oils, and perfumes and be super gentle with the skin to avoid infection. See your doctor if you have severe sunburn.

For those of you who want to know how to get rid of wrinkles, here are some tips you might find useful:
If you’re serious about getting rid of wrinkles, you should stop smoking right now.
Staying out of the sun should help you get rid of wrinkles.
Avoid strong soaps and scalding water if you want to get rid of wrinkles.
A diet rich in Hyaluronic Acid may be to your ticket to get rid of wrinkles.
Treatments that contain Hydroxy acids and moisturizing creams may help get rid of wrinkles.
I have been hearing about the not so new product from Body Shop that is Moringa. I have never been to the Body Shop in years because I stock my creams from Bath and Body Works sales (products are dirt cheap that you can’t help but hoard. I heard there are people who use payday advance to hoard them throughout the year) but this one I had to check out. If you are a fan of floral scents, this one is for you – the flowery scent may be too overwhelming for people who prefer light scents though. As with Body Shop body butter creams, they are THICK creams. Definitely not going to go on my skin with this terrible heat. I might give them a try when it’s December the weather is lovely and cold. But it really works! My skin is smooth and hydrated the next day. if you can snag it, you can apply it at night (or better yet just buy the night cream). It is THICK (major inconvenience) but I guess that’s what body butters are for
Moringa Body Butter – and anything from the Moringa line, for that matter – smells exactly like a beautiful, fragrant Hawaiian lei. The kind made of fresh plumeria and pikake flowers!
In any case, Moringa, The Body Shop’s first floral body butter, is a delicious mix of white flowers that’s pretty much guaranteed to bring you straight back to summer vacation in a jiffy. And the super-moisturizing body butter will banish that scaly winter skin just as fast.
Best if you want to: Soften and condition your skin with a rich floral-scented moisturizing cream that lasts up to 24 hours.
Best for: normal to dry skin
How it works:
- Moringa seed oil with natural oleic acid moisturizes and protects skin.
- Community Trade shea butter moisturizes and softens skin.
- Community Trade cocoa butter is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature.
First used in Ayurvedic medicine some 4,000 years ago, moringa seed oil comes from the moringa tree, which is also known as the ‘miracle tree’ due to its wide variety of beneficial uses. The oil was highly treasured by the ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian civilizations for use in protecting skin and making perfume, and it was so good they even used it to create their own skin-smoothing product.
The Moringa tree provides 7 times the Vitamin C in oranges, 4 times the calcium in milk, 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots, 2 times the protein in milk and 3 times the potassium in bananas. Moringa seed oil contains high levels of oleic acid, a fatty acid that helps to restore the skin’s moisture levels, protects against drying and keeps the skin feeling soft and smooth.
The heat maybe unbearable but it should not be a reason for a woman NOT to moisturize. Just choose a very light moisturizer and make sure you apply it on clean skin so that your pores won’t get clogged.
I found these great moisturizer tips on ShopCrazy and thought of sharing it with you guys:
Know your skin type.
Do you have really dry skin that needs extra moisture? Are you allergic or sensitive to certain ingredients? Knowing your skin type will determine which products and ingredients are safe for your skin.
Read the product labels and ingredient lists.
Avoid products that are loaded with unnecessary chemicals, as these may do more harm than good. Look for lotions that have natural ingredients such as Vitamin E or Jojoba Oil for added moisturizing benefits. Johnson’s Body Care lotions even contain a dual moisture bond that adds and seals moisture in the skin for 24 hours.
Do a skin test.
Always test new lotions or moisturizers on a small patch of skin first, so you know if your skin is sensitive or not. You may not realize that you’re using products that are harsh on your skin.
Opt for sun protection.
Living in a tropical country means extra exposure to the sun, so pick moisturizers that have sunscreen. Vitamin C and milk proteins are an added bonus to help protect your natural skin tone. You can avoid an extra layer of sunblock by picking moisturizers that already have it built in.
Keep these things in mind and you’ll be able to keep your skin soft, smooth and radiant all day.
I was thinking about this a while ago and wondered how many women receive huge bonuses from work and splurge them all in clothes, bags and shoes when they can actually invest it on themselves first. I am not against shopping – I am one of those women who believe shopping can be such a great stress reliever. But I am not getting any younger and I need to invest on myself – my face, my skin, my body – sooner or later.
So if ever I can spend a few thousand bucks on myself I would be getting these treatments for myself. Actually, if I would work again soon, I might even consider getting payday loans to be able to pay them off. It’s a wise investment I know I will never regret.
1. Laser Light Hair Removal
Imagine how much you can save if you never need to shave, wax, pluck or thread for the rest of your life! Plus all the unwanted hassle and inconvenience of waiting for it to regrow so you can have them taken all off again. For long-term hair removal, electrolysis is popular and effective but is uncomfortable and slow.
Laser treatments need to be in 8-10 intervals spaced 4 weeks apart during the first few sessions to give chance for all roots to grow hair and be removed by laser. I have heard feedback that hair does grow but it is so fine (baby hair), others never had hair growth anymore.
2. Power Peel
Based on research I have made, this is the only treatment that can gradually clear stretch marks since it peels your skin slowly to reveal your “younger” skin. With the aid of micro-crystals vacuumed through a delicate hand piece and held at a precise angle to the skin, a technician effects a superficial skin polishing. In as short as twenty minutes, this gentle abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Treatments are applied through a course of weekly sessions. Power Peel enhances skin condition and does what no other available treatment can (without surgery) in combating the signs of aging skin. Most importantly, it is safe to use on all skin types and color.
If ever you want to try the best face cleaning treatments in the world, you better book a flight and head on over to Israel and reserve your room amongst the Dead Sea hotels available along the Dead Sea. And I am not joking! The Dead Sea has always been known to be the lowest point on Earth, being 1,320 feet below sea level. The main reason why it is called as such is because of it high salt concentration. With the highest salt concentration (32%) among bodies of water in the world, no sea creature has been able to live in it. Because of its deep location, its waters contain 21 minerals, 12 of which are known to be good for the skin and alleviating circulatory and skin disorders.
Now you know why the mud packs you buy in stores which have claims that they were “imported straight from the Dead Sea” are so popular. Their mineral mud is exported all over the world. You can stay at the LOT SPA Hotel located in the heart of the Ein Bokek hotel district with an astonishing adjacent beach where you can float in the Dead Sea and enjoy the marvelous experience of peace and tranquillization.
Our skin requires a delicate balance to stay healthy; it can’t be too dry, it can’t be too oily. It can’t have it’s pores all plugged up and it requires it’s own unique "nutrition". Mud from the Dead Sea provides all of these benefits to our skin. The salt draws out the impurities from pores, the minerals keep the skin ph balanced, all the while making sure that our skin stays hydrated and moisturized. These minerals are potassium, magnesium, sodium, bromine and calcium – they are needed by your skin to help maintain the right moisture levels and hydration and all of them can be found in the dead sea!
Summer is here – be prepared to protect your skin from the sun even if you plan on getting tanned!
