While men are busy preparing the electric grill for BBQ parties this summer, we are naturally drawn to planning which outfit we would wear to such parties. Though it’s too late to crunch in some gym time to tone abs and legs, you can always make sure to wear the correct form and type of shorts to accentuate your assets and hide flabs.

Read on:
Big Tummy: Look for shorts that sit slightly below the waist line–they’ll offer more comfort for a big tummy as well as give it room to breath. Avoid high waists and any short that’s too small in the waist—it’ll emphasis the size of your belly. A high waist can make your tummy look like it’s oozing out while a too small waist equals muffin top.

Boyish Frame: If you want to add some curves to a boyish frame, look for shorts that have pleating, ruching, or any gathering of material.

Long Torso: To balance out a long torso, you can either go with a high waist or a shorter length. This can be tricky so proceed with caution and follow the tips for other body types if you have a long torso and a big tummy, etc.

Short Torso: To lengthen a short torso, go for low waist options. Bermuda shorts with a long tunic help to even out your frame.

Thick Thighs: Avoid side pockets, they’ll only make your thighs appear larger. Go for plain front shorts with a wider leg opening.

Petite: Remember that petite is a size not a shape. You’ll still need to follow tips for your body type. But with a petite frame of any shape, add visual length to your frame by wearing your shorts with sandals (flat or heels). Avoid wearing them with sneakers and socks which shortens your frame unless you’re at the gym. The idea is to show as much leg as possible and avoid any horizontal lines below the knee. A horizontal line can be formed by the hem of your shorts, the ankle strap of a shoe, the fold of a sock, etc.

Plus-Size: Just like petite, plus-size is a size not a shape. Plus-sizes cannot be all lumped into one category because not every plus-size body is the same. So follow the tips for your body type. With a plus-size frame of any shape, be sure not to try and hide your frame in over sized clothing–you’ll only appear larger than you actually are. Also don’t be afraid of color.

It’s the second day of June and it has rained – AGAIN. It might be a sure sign that summer is over for us but it won’t stop me from browsing summer outfits – maybe for next year. I got these from here. I should learn how to do this – anybody want to teach me?

I am drawn to floral prints lately and I have found great pieces at Lulu’s – too bad they really aren’t for my built. These are perfect for summer trips. I would need the best diet supplements so I can wear those cute but dainty rompers.

Among the four pieces I like, I have a chance on wearing the kite top (first image from the top) and I love the color combination too!

Summer has just arrived, school is out and most families are planning their Branson vacations or trips to Disneyworld. While tie-dye clothing has been around for ages, it has become more stylish now and has extended to bags, scarves and even shoes.

They even hit the runway! Look at the two featured dress, it has veered away from the usual tie-dyed clothes you see in racks.

Just $29.99, GAP’s slouchy washed hobo in red and orange is one of the best summer bags we’ve seen lately. Comfortable to wear and deep enough to tote an entire picnic, this bag features leather straps and convenient inside pockets.

They surely know how to make floral without it being so fashionably outdated.

imageHats have the power to transform and make an outfit look, well, cooler and more put-together. Besides, you would need to protect your head (and hair) from the damaging rays of the sun.

So when you plan your beach outfits, there is no perfect hat to use than these straw hat from Bench! The price is also a steal, Php 399.75!

It comes in a variety of colors and textures and you can replace the ribbon with different colors, depending on your outfit.

Don’t forget your eye protection – shades – and lather on loads of sunblock! Enjoy the sun!

If you’re moving into a new house any time soon, it’s the perfect time to look into above ground pools. They’re quick and easy to set up and you can move into your new sanctuary with an oasis already installed. You can reap the benefits of owning a pool without the time and mess. You’ll start off life in your new home on the right foot.

The benefits of having immediate access are plentiful. Privacy is one main issue. Many people feel uncomfortable wearing so little in front of so many. If that is the case, you can enjoy a swim without any thought as to what others are thinking. If you like an early morning swim before your shower or a late night dip, you can swim on your own schedule without worrying about the public pool’s hours.

When you move into your new place with your newly installed above ground pool, it is the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself to the neighborhood. Why not throw a housewarming barbecue? Invite your friends and new neighbors to mingle and get to know one another. You may have some life long friends that you’re going to meet! When you have a pool, party entertainment is automatically taken care of and makes entertaining a breeze. Marinate some meat and grill some seasonal vegetables for an easy but impressive spread. You can even grill some fruit for a different dessert. When you have a pool, you can throw what you have available on the grill, put on your trunks, and make a day of it. It’s a great way to introduce yourself and get to know the people around you. Everyone will be impressed and have a great time and you’ll start things off in a fresh positive way. You’ll certainly make a splash with the neighborhood when you make the call to get your above ground pool!

image The heat maybe unbearable but it should not be a reason for a woman NOT to moisturize. Just choose a very light moisturizer and make sure you apply it on clean skin so that your pores won’t get clogged.

I found these great moisturizer tips on ShopCrazy and thought of sharing it with you guys:

Know your skin type.

Do you have really dry skin that needs extra moisture? Are you allergic or sensitive to certain ingredients? Knowing your skin type will determine which products and ingredients are safe for your skin.

Read the product labels and ingredient lists.

Avoid products that are loaded with unnecessary chemicals, as these may do more harm than good. Look for lotions that have natural ingredients such as Vitamin E or Jojoba Oil for added moisturizing benefits. Johnson’s Body Care lotions even contain a dual moisture bond that adds and seals moisture in the skin for 24 hours.

Do a skin test.

Always test new lotions or moisturizers on a small patch of skin first, so you know if your skin is sensitive or not. You may not realize that you’re using products that are harsh on your skin.

Opt for sun protection.

Living in a tropical country means extra exposure to the sun, so pick moisturizers that have sunscreen. Vitamin C and milk proteins are an added bonus to help protect your natural skin tone. You can avoid an extra layer of sunblock by picking moisturizers that already have it built in.

Keep these things in mind and you’ll be able to keep your skin soft, smooth and radiant all day.
