There are always fun things to do at Indianapolis, known as the Circle City. Be ready to scour and book Indianapolis hotels when you are done reading this post as you will be loving what the city has to offer. Everyone from all walks of life and each family member, young and old, has something to get from a trip to Indianapolis.
Family fun. As the first institution to be triple-accredited as a zoo, aquarium, and a botanical garden, the Indianapolis Zoo features the world’s largest shark touch tank, the world’s first totally submerged dolphin viewing exhibit, and a new cheetah exhibit for 2010.
If you and your family happen to be in Indianapolis for the day, do your kids a favor and take them to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. With five different levels and over 470,000 square feet to roam, don’t expect a quick trip. There is plenty of activities here to last all day. Each level of this magical place offers new sights and opportunities for your active children. The lower level includes the Lilly Theater, the Planetarium, All Aboard!, and the National Geographic Treasures of the Earth Exhibit. It also expands into the fabulous Dinosphere. For a lot of children (and young-hearted adults) this may well be their favorite level.
Cultural hot spots. The Indianapolis Museum of Art has been ranked by USA Today as one of the top 10 marriage proposal locations because of the famous LOVE sculpture.
Sporting events. Indianapolis is the only city to boast four professional sports teams that all play within a four-block radius in downtown, so there’s something for most die-hard sports fans.
